Will this product work with a TomTom Rider GPS Unit
We have been told by a regular customer that they do, but we have not tested them ourselves.

DOes this only work as a VOX activated communication between te pillion and the rider or does it have a feature aloowing always on communication for free speech rider/pillion similar to the Scala Rider kit? https://secure7.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=cardo&BusType=BtoC&Count1=987407863&Count2=904548287&ProductID=25&Target=products.asp
Thanks

The device is purely a rider to pillion piece of equipment, when on your bike and there is loud noise around you this will activate the mike and headphones.
There is a feature on the pillion unit when pressing the light blue circle this opens up the channel for speech between the rider & pillion headsets. This can be activated when there is no noise around so you can both communicate.

Is there a facility for charging the battery on the bike, or is it charged by mains only?
It is charged via the mains supply.

I have an Advance Harley Davidson Audio System on my 2006 Electra Gluide Classic, how can I get the broadcast from the radio over the midland bluetooh intercom? Is there an interface for my radio? I am very interested in your intercom system and will surely purchase it, but would like to hear my radio over the headset also. your assistance is greatly appreciated.

We would need to know what size pin out you have on the audio system, i.e. is it a single 2.5mm pin?
If it does, you could use the BPA100 to convert the audio into a bluetooth signal for the Midland BT Intercom, but the sound would not be stereo.
Is this compatible with a TomTom Rider sat nav?
If you use the BPA100 to convert the audio output to bluetooth, then yes it could work, however we have not tested this configuration.
is water resistant water proof ? thanks
It is designed for use in the rain, however not underwater.
Will this unit work with the Palm 700wx
If the Palm 700wx is bluetooth enabled, then yes it will work.
Basically wondering how many of these you can set up to use at once, so say you had 3 or 4 people could they all talk to each other?
Unfortunately no you cannot, it is purely for rider to pillion, as the units come already paired to each other.
Can there be communication between 3 headsets? If two riders have bluetooth phones, can they be paired with the individuals headset? If a blue tooth cel phone goes off, will it only be heard in the primary headset . . .the other rider won't hear the conversation?
Unfortunately no you cannot, it is purely for rider to pillion, as the units come already paired to each other. The conversation on the phone will only be heard from the paired headset.

I have a bluetooth enabled PDA running Tom Tom will this work with this intercom if so will the pilion hear the nav instructions, how much noise does it take for the unit to work ie will it work when the bike is stationary with the engine running, can I use my bluetooth mobile at the same time

Please find responses below:
1) I can't be sure about wether the PDA will send the navigation directions over Bluetooth, this would depend on the sat nav software. If it does, then I see no reason why it won't work with our BT intercom.
2) If it does work, and the passenger wants to hear the instructions, then he or she would have to press the intercom button on their headset in order to hear the instructions.
3) It's hard to say wether the intercom would work on the standby (Vox operated) mode when the bike is stationary. You may find that it cuts out if there is no speech for more than a few seconds. However, you could use the always on mode as described above.
4) No, I'm afraid that you can't use your mobile at the same time as the navigation. The intercom can only be paired with 2 devices, one of which has to be the other intercom unit.

If used rider to rider, what is the range?
Thank You
The bluetooth protocol generally supports 10 metres, 20 at best.
Hi,
Compared to the Scala Rider Bluetooth headset this unit appears to have stereo speakers, is that correct?
Yes there are two speakers for the helmet.

How does a BPA 100 connect to the motorcycle so that the radio can be hearhrough the intercom system? We are interested in adding this to our bike.
The BPA100 will connect to the radio to make it Bluetooth, and then you can pair it with a bluetooth headset such as the Scala Rider or the Midland Intercom system.
Is there a phone number we can call for further information? Thank you.

It has an approximate range of 10metres, and really is designed for use within a bike helmet. As an alternative, you can use a regular radio, such as the cobra mt550, with a headset?
The situation - rider and pillion happily riding along, phone rings - do both the rider and pillion hear the ring and then conduct the conversation or is it restricted to just one of the headsets, does the incoming call cut off their conversation if only one of the headsets can take the call etc
Also, is it possible to also have GPS and Audio input ?
It would work like this, if the rider and passenger were talking, the intercom would go into standby mode and ring to indicate that a call was coming in. Only the driver would hear the ringtone, and could answer the call by pressing the control button or by sayin g the call answer voice command, if his mobile supported voice commands. At this point, just the driver would be involved in the call. If the passenger wanted to take part in the conversation, the driver would have to press his intercom button to include the passenger.
Only the driver can answer the call. The incoming call would cut off their conversation, but two beeps would be sounded to indicate that this was happening (standby mode).
As for GPS/audio, the intercom headsets can only be paired with two devices, one of which has to be the other intercom. This means that the intercoms can only connect to a GPS OR phone OR audio device. If one of these other devices can act as a "hub", then it can be paired with the intercoms and switch the audio from the other devices to the intercoms. I.E. Pair the intercoms to, say, the GPS and then pair the phone and/or mp3 player to the GPS. The GPS will then handle the switching between which devices are connected to the intercom. If the motorcyclists were talking, then the interrruption of their converstaion would take place as described for an incoming phone call.
